Burhwara

Burhwara
An inhabitant of a *burh, as in *ASC. In *DB the Latin term used for such a person was burgensis. Town-dwellers or countrymen, the burhwaru were still robust: in ASC 994, the burhwaru of London inflicted more harm and injury than Sweyn and his men had expected, driving them off.
